Mahdi’s Titles ( part 3)

Perfect (Tamam)
Each of imam Mahdi’s titles indicates some unique part of his character. One of his titles is Perfect.
He is called perfect on account of his perfect and flawless moral perfections, his human geniuses, honorable descent, glory and grandeur, compassion, affection, sovereignty, and sultanate. And none of the prophets or guardians has reached his limit and his success in implementation of divine laws is unprecedented by the rest of prophets and guardians.
It can also be said that he is called perfect since he would complement and complete caliphate and kingdom of God besides all knowledge and perfections on the earth. And it is through his guidance and educational programs that human beings would reach the highest degrees of spiritual and mystical perfection.

Absent (Qaeb)
Absent is one of the titles mentioned for Imam Mahdi. Absent means not present. When the hostile oppressors could not tolerate the luminosity and legitimacy of the twelfth Imam and attacked the house of Imam Askari to assassinate the Awaited Savior. However, Allah with His eternal power and wisdom provided the grounds for the survival of the remnant of the Series of Imams and the progeny of prophethood so that He would complete His blessings to the oppressed.
Since then the Absence of the Great Reformer of Humanity began and the twelfth Imam became known as Absent.

Expected (Mamoul)
Expected or Mamoul means the desirable or the one who is anticipated by people and they hope to see him. This title is one of Imam Mahdi’d titles. Everyone hopes to see this great savior’s uprising so that oppression and discrimination would be wiped out from the whole universe and everywhere is filled with justice.
The title Expected or Mamoul indicates this reality that since everyone expects his Appearance, he is called Expected. In some part of the great Al-Yasin Ziarah we have: peace be upon you, O Imam Amin, peace be upon you O the antecedent whom people are expecting to see.

Orator (Nateq)
One of the famous titles of Imam Mahdi is Nateq or Orator. In Ashoura Ziarah we have: to bless me with the vengeance of your blood with Imam Mahdi, the orator. The title Nateq is given to Imam Mahdi by the Prophet and it was mentioned in some hadith while introducing all of the guardians.
This title is given to him since the previous Imams could not talk about most of the things and secrets; because there were great dangers threatening Islam. But once Imam Mahdi appears he would enjoy such power and grandeur that he suppresses all the tyrants and he would implement God’s law, all knowledge and sciences with no worry.

The light of the family of Mohammad
The light of the family of Mohammad has its roots in Quran. It should be mentioned that although Imam Mahdi’s name is not mentioned in Quran, , so many times in the narratives interpreting Quranic verses, some verses are explicated or matched with his practices or characteristics.
For instance verses like “ but Allah’s will is to let his great light be manifest perfectly”, or “the earth would be lightened with the light of its creator”, or “and Allah does guide with his light whoever he wills” are interpreted as referring to imam Mahdi’s governance and his appearance.
